Senior marketing student Alyce Ledet continues to build a strong presence across campus while pursuing the opportunity to represent the Nicholls community. Through leadership, service and academic involvement, Ledet hopes to highlight the pride and connection that define student life.
Ledet, a Thibodaux native, is majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Advertising. Her involvement spans several organizations including Phi Mu Sorority along with multiple academic honor societies. These experiences helped her develop leadership skills while staying actively engaged in campus service.
“My parents and sister also attended Nicholls, so I grew up hearing about their experiences here,” Ledet said.
“Because of that, I knew it was somewhere I could see myself going to school one day.”
While family tradition played a major role in her college decision, Ledet also wanted a college experience in which community was a foundation.
“I also chose to come to Nicholls because of the strong sense of community on campus,” Ledet said.
Soon after arriving on campus as a freshman, Ledet began her professional career working at University Health Services. She now works in the University Marketing Department, helping create social media content that promotes campus events, programs, and student life.
Outside academics, Ledet values time spent with friends and family while also embracing creativity through marketing projects. Social media campaigns, branding concepts, and visual storytelling allow her to apply classroom knowledge in meaningful ways. Shopping also remains one of her favorite hobbies during free time.
Peers encouraged Ledet to pursue the opportunity to run as a finalist for Ms. Nicholls. Their support helped motivate her to take on the challenge while representing the community that shaped her college experience.
One of Ledet’s proudest moments came last semester when she was crowned Nicholls Homecoming Queen. The recognition reflected years of dedication and involvement across campus organizations.
A simple message from her father continues to guide her each day. Every morning he sends the same reminder: “Be the Best.” The phrase serves as daily motivation for Ledet as she pursues academic goals, leadership opportunities.
Looking ahead, Ledet plans to continue her education after graduation.
“After I graduate, I plan to pursue my MBA at Nicholls,” Ledet said.
“I want to build on the marketing experience I’ve gained during college eventually working in a career where I can be creative and apply my advertising skills.”
Through leadership, creativity, community involvement, Ledet hopes to continue representing the values that define the Nicholls experience.
