SPA entertains students at Crawfish Day

Nicholls State University’s Student Programming Association held its annual Crawfish Day on April 10.

SPA organized plates of boiled crawfish and other food items such as burgers and nachos.

Colonel’s Shaved Ice gave out snowballs. Students could participate in games and activities.
DJ Co, a local DJ, played music for the event.

Students participated in crawfish eating contest where they had the chance to win prizes. Students also received Crawfish Day t-shirts.

A’Niyah Degray, a nursing freshman, said she enjoyed her first Crawfish Day and being able to participate in the activities.

“This is the first event I’ve seen most people participate in. I didn’t expect the event to be as big as it was,” said Degray.

Tancy McCart, administrative coordinator of Health Services, volunteered to help at Crawfish Day. She said Crawfish Day went great for her, the weather was nice and the crawfish was good. She looks forward to volunteering next Crawfish Day.

The Student Government Association announced the 2025 Mr. & Mrs. Nicholls at  Crawfish Day, naming Jax Badeaux Mr. Nicholls and Myra Berthiaume Ms. Nicholls.
