Nicholls State University reopens after the effects of Hurricane Francine.
Nicholls experienced an electrical outage from Sept. 11 to Sept. 14., leaving resident students without power. Earlier today, Entergy restored power to campus.
Jerad David, director of communications, said on-campus classes can continue starting on Monday, Sept. 16.
Students, faculty and staff can return to campus for “normal operations and scheduled activities,” David said
Due to Nicholls suspending school for Hurricane Francine, Fall Break #1 is canceled to recover class time and missed work.
“The university will be reclaiming Fall Break #1, which was scheduled for September 26-27, to make up for missed work due to the hurricane closure. Nicholls faculty will be contacting students soon regarding a plan for continuation of classes, including coursework/exam dates that may have been affected by the closure,” David said.
Campus residents who left campus can return on Sunday, Sept. 15 at noon. David said the Office of Residential Living will send further information and details for return.
