LAFAYETTE – The Nicholls State University baseball team lost to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette 13-3 in seven innings on April 2.
Nicholls falls to 20-11 on the season with the loss.
Edgar Alvarez, Garrett Felix and Cade Crosby scored runs for Nicholls, while Gerardo Villarreal, Aaron Biediger, and Jaden Collura recorded RBIs.
Alvarez and Felix scored in the third inning with RBIs from Villarreal and Biediger, and Crosby scored in the sixth inning with an RBI from Collura.
Nicholls recorded a total of nine hits on 30 at-bats.
Pitcher Haden Luke started the game for Nicholls but was relieved after one inning.

Wednesday’s home game against Mississippi Valley State University is canceled with no make-up date given.
