Consecutive three run innings pushed LSU softball to a 10-2 win over Nicholls State University.
Nicholls’ lone hit came from first baseman Alexa Poche’ who led the team in putouts (6).
Molly Yoo pitched a shutout in the first inning before she was relieved after conceding three runs in the third inning.
Relief pitcher Averi Paden gave up one run in the third inning and pitched shutouts in the fourth and fifth innings.
After a three-run sixth inning that put LSU up 7-0 Nicholls responded with a two RBI double off the bat of Poche’ that cut the LSU lead to five.
LSU put the game out of reach with a three run home-run in the top of the seventh.
Nicholls did not answer, going down in order to end the game.
