Nicholls’ Career Services center offers free help to students and alumni by assisting with resumes, interviews and providing background information on careers.
Kristie Tauzin Goulas, director of Career Services, said students and alumni are welcome to drop in anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m at their office in 110 South Babington Hall. Students are reminded to have information ready, such as previous jobs, leadership roles and education history, downloaded into a document.
“I went there to research more information about being a social worker,” Eva Parker, freshman from Gonzales, said. “They gave me salary rates, required classes and certain tests necessary to achieve my dream. I recommend everyone go there because they are really helpful.”
Last year, 228 students used Career Services.
“Considering the amount of students we have on campus, we would like to see more students come into our office,” Goulas said.
Career Services also offers an online system located on the Nicholls website under “Campus Life” and “Activities” for people who do not have time to go to the office.
Through Career Services, students and alumni can also view available jobs and create profiles for employers to view.
