THIBODAUX, La. — Robert Lockett Jr. is a mass communications major who is taking up the role of Staff Writer at The Nicholls Worth. Lockett is a sophomore at Nicholls, and he chose to pursue the position of staff writer because of his knack for the task.
“I write because it always comes smoothly to me,” Lockett said. “No matter how much I struggle in my daily life, writing brings me peace.”
Lockett hopes to reach audiences in the community who do not typically read the news. He also hopes to bring more coverage to new food-related campus news, as well as the world of football.
“I’ve always had an interest in football,” Lockett said. “But once I started watching players like Aaron Donald or DeForest Buckner, I wanted to be like them.”
As Lockett begins his journey with The Nicholls Worth, he said he is excited to bring new and fresh perspectives to the team. His strong suit of reliability will ensure the campus never misses a beat of news.
As a word of encouragement to his peers, Lockett said to take the risk and pursue your passion.
“Follow your dreams and goals, because you never know where they might take you in life,” Lockett said.
