Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill reported that Nicholls student, Russell Antoine Varmall Jr., was arrested on Wednesday for possession of child sex materials.
Varmall, 22, was arrested on Nicholls State University grounds and booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex on a $70,000 bond.
While the investigation is ongoing, he has been charged with two counts of possession of child sex materials with victims under 13.
According to the report, the Thibodaux resident was under investigation by Nicholls University Police and Louisiana Bureau of Investigation after agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
