President Trump suggested Wednesday that he may target New Orleans in his attack on crime.
“Do we go to Chicago?” he told the press, “Do we go to a place like New Orleans, where we have a great governor, Jeff Landry, who wants us to come in and straighten out a very nice section of this country that’s become quite, you know, quite tough, quite bad.”
He brought up numbers from Washington D.C., stating there have been more than 1,700 arrests. He hopes to see similar results across the country.

President Trump was reportedly “not happy” after Moscow hit Kyiv with the biggest attack since the beginning of the war in 2022. Trump had met with Putin to try to solve the conflict, but in recent weeks, sources said Trump has grown more angry with Putin. He said he thought the war would be easier to solve.

President Trump signed an executive order to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War in a move he says “sends a message of victory…a message of strength.” This change came months after actively campaigning for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.
Congress will need to authorize the name, and many republicans have already introduced legislation.

The CDC Head Susan Monarez was removed after only a month of leading. Monarez said she was attacked because she “refused to rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts.” She was replaced by Jim O’Niell, a Kennedy ally who notably is not a doctor or scientist.
Kennedy testified to congress about his new vaccine ruling and was grilled by senators.

The Trump Administration is opening a new ICE detention center in Louisiana’s notorious Angola prison, known as “Camp 57” as a nod to Governor Landry who is the 57th governor.
It will hold the most dangerous criminals and Angola’s reputation was a deciding factor of location according to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
