THIBODAUX, La. — Ethan Romaire is a junior at Nicholls, majoring in mass communications with a concentration in journalism. He will be a sports writer for The Nicholls Worth this fall.
Through his position, Romaire said he hopes to keep the campus community informed and entertained by sharing important and engaging stories—especially those that highlight the people who make Nicholls and the surrounding area so unique.
“Sports have always played a huge role in my life,” Romaire said. “While I didn’t pursue a career on the field, writing has given me the chance to stay close to the game I love.”
Beyond the world of journalism, Romaire has explored his interest in the creation and technical development of music. In his spare time, he learns how to produce his pieces as an exciting and personal creative outlet.
“It’s something that fascinated me from a young age,” Romaire said. “Though I struggled with the technical side of it for years, I’m now diving into learning how to create and produce my own songs.”
Romaire said one of his biggest inspirations is his friends, who inspire him daily to aim higher through their support and kindness. In turn, he encourages his peers to prioritize their well-being so they can show up as their best selves.
“If there’s one thing I’d tell my peers, it’s this: take care of yourself,” Romaire said. “Prioritize your needs so you can show up as the best version of yourself—not just for others, but for you too.”
With his enthusiasm for sports and engaging storytelling, Romaire is more than ready to tackle the topics this fall brings.
“The drive and genuine love for what I do is what I believe I bring most to the table. Whether it’s in writing or in life, passion is the fuel that keeps me going—and I hope that shines through in everything I contribute here at The Nicholls Worth.”
