THIBODAUX, La. — As summer has drawn to a close, the paths of our beloved campus have begun to fill with an array of activity.
While driving on campus, I watched you line up and carry various wind instruments into Talbot Hall. As I passed through Candies, I smiled at you sitting, filling out paperwork for your campus job. As I concluded my day, I noticed you playing on the tennis court, swinging with ease and laughing together.
It warmed my heart to see each of you filling our beautiful grounds with life, laughter and joy. I’m excited to see the accomplishments you accumulate over the next year, and I’m looking forward to writing about so many of them.
You see, you are what makes Nicholls great. You are what makes Nicholls home. You are what makes Nicholls worth it.
Just as you fill our campus with life, we at The Nicholls Worth want to fill your days with stories that matter. I’ve paid a lot of attention to the headlines this summer. I understand many of us have been bracing ourselves for the next explosive news as we wake up every morning. Even so, there’s something you should know.
During times of uncertainty this year, you can be certain about one thing—we will be on the scene reporting for you.
You will not be left in the dark, and you will not have to wonder if you missed out. Whether it’s the next big football match or national politics with local impacts, we are covering it. We will share what matters to you, to Nicholls and our region.
I implore you to take a few minutes each morning to sit down with your coffee (or preferred beverage of choice) and take a glimpse into what we have to offer. You will leave more educated, informed and prepared to take on your day and work towards making the world a better place.
Here’s to a new semester with fresh opportunities to collaborate for the greater good of our community.
