The City of Thibodaux has enacted a curfew between the hours of 10 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.

Jarad David, Nicholls’ director of communications, announced that campus will remain closed until Monday, Sept. 16 as assessment teams “identify damage and begin remediation.”
David added that residents should not return to campus before Noon on Sunday

Ellender Hall resident, Maurice Butler, said he struggled to open the door of his sixth-floor room to leave as wind forced its way down the hall after a window in the Ellender Hall staircase shattered between 5 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
“The door to the stairwell was broke and it was already open…I was barely able to open the door to my room,” Butler said.
The glass from the shattered window remains on the staircase floor.

Jarad David, Nicholls director of communications, announced in an email to students that he Lafourche Parish curfew has been extended to Thursday at 10 a.m.

Nicholls director of residential living ALex Coad announced that “a comprehensive assessment of the entire campus” begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
