Former Nicholls State University volleyball player Aaliyah Burras has died, Nicholls Athletics announced in a post on X.
Burras died on Feb. 11 at the age of 24. No cause of death was given.
Burras played for Nicholls from 2018 to 2021 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
Nicholls’ Athletic Director Jonathan “J.T.” Terrell spoke of the person Burras was and said he is praying for all of those affected.
“Life is precious and it’s sad to see someone who had so much energy and an infectious smile gone so soon,” Terrell wrote. “Prayers for her family and friends and all of all colonels nation.”
