While looking into sorority life at Nicholls State, there is a mixture of campus involvement, community impact, and the bond of sisterhood.
Here on campus, there are four different, wonderful sororities that you can join:
Gamma Phi Beta
Delta Zeta
Phi Mu
Tri Sigma
Getting involved in Greek Life is a great opportunity to make real connections, and hopefully find some of your lifelong friends. Also, participating in a sorority can give you many opportunities for personal growth and even leadership skills.
Many organizations on this campus are able to offer you a friend, but when you get involved in Greek life, it gives you a family. It is like a home away from home, which is much needed while you are dealing with the everyday troubles of the college experience. This sisterhood will give you the support and guidance that you may be looking for.
One main benefit of Greek life is the aspect of service. One of the most important focuses for every sorority is helping others. Each sorority has a national philanthropy, but they also can adopt local organizations as well. They hold many fundraisers and make thousands of dollars in donations to these charities. This allows members to make a positive impact on others outside the campus boundaries.
Panhellenic Recruitment is the process in which potential new members meet all of the sororities and the sororities are given a chance to welcome new sisters into their sisterhood.
Recruitment begins during the fall semester. The recruitment period consists of multiple rounds where you get to meet and converse with each chapter on campus. Then, you can narrow your choices down until you select the sorority that is the best fit for you.
Women’s recruitment is typically held the week before classes begin in the fall semester.
