Masking requirement update
Nicholls released a statement last week regarding updated masking requirements.
On May 25, Governor John Bel Edwards updated the guidelines for the Louisiana COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Proclamation. With these updates comes new rules for Nicholls and its students. These rules are as follows:
- If a student has been fully vaccinated, he/she no longer is required to wear a mask in or out of doors.
- If a student has not been fully vaccinated, he/she is expected to continue to wear a mask indoors.
Still, students who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should remain at home, and instructors are to be notified immediately.
Nicholls has not yet made mention of requiring students and faculty to take the vaccine to remain full-time, on-campus students.
Temperature check-in stations will be done away with upon the opening of the university in the fall.
