Men’s Tennis (0-0)

2/10 — @ South Alabama – Mobile, AL – 2 p.m.

2/11 — vs Alcorn State – Thibodaux, LA – 2 p.m.

After their opening weekend games were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols, the men’s tennis team will take the court for the first time since March 11 of last year. The Colonels went 1-1 against these opponents last season, taking down Alcorn State 6-1 but losing to South Alabama 1-6.

Women’s Tennis (0-0)

2/10 — @ South Alabama – Mobile, AL – 12 p.m.

2/12 — vs LA Tech – Thibodaux, LA – 1 p.m.

Like the men’s team, the women also had their season opener pushed back due to pandemic restrictions. The women will be looking to snap a 10-match losing streak that dates back to last season.

Women’s Basketball (6-10) (Conf 5-4)

2/10 — vs Lamar University – Thibodaux, LA – 6 p.m.

2/13 — @ Southeastern – Hammond, LA – 5 p.m.

The women will look to snap a 2-game losing streak when they return home after 3 consecutive games on the road. The colonels have a 5-1 record at home, while they are 1-9 away from Stover gym.

Men’s Basketball (10-6) (Conf 7-2)

2/10 — @ Lamar University – Beaumont, TX – 7 p.m.

2/13 — @ Southeastern – Hammond, LA – 7 p.m.

After having their 8-game winning streak snapped, the Colonels will look to get back on track when they take on Lamar and Southeastern. The Colonels are led by Ty Gordon, who is averaging a team-high 15.4 points and 4.1 assists per game. Gordon has already earned Southland Conference Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Women’s Track and Field

Samford Invite

2/12-2/13 — Birmingham, AL

The women’s team heads out of state for the first time all season, after participating in two consecutive meets held in Baton Rouge. Juniors Chelsea Harrington and Hailey Alcorn will look to build on their positive performances, with Harrington having finished third in the long jump and Alcorn posting a second-place finish in the women’s 400m race.

Soccer (0-1)

2/12 — @McNeese – Lake Charles – 3 p.m.

2/14 — vs Louisiana Tech – Thibodaux, LA – 1 p.m.

The Colonels fell to Southern Mississippi in their first match under Interim Head Coach Alexis Cable. The women will look to secure their very first win against Louisiana Tech and first victory over McNeese since 2014.

Softball (0-0)

Lion Classic (Hammond, LA)

2/12 — vs South Dakota – 3 p.m.

2/13 — vs Southern Illinois University Edwardsville – 10 a.m.

2/13 — vs South Dakota – 2:30 p.m.

2/14 — vs Southern Illinois University Edwardsville – 12 p.m.

Nicholls will open their season by participating in the Lion Classic in Hammond after being picked to finish seventh in the Southland Conference. The Colonels are led by third baseman Junior Caitlin Garcia, who was named to the All-Southland Conference second Team. In the shortened season, Garcia posted a .260 batting average with five home runs and 18 runs batted in (RBIs).

Golf

LaTour Intercollegiate

2/14-2/15 — Mathews, LA – 8 a.m.

For the third consecutive year, the golf team will host the LaTour Intercollegiate in Mathews. The Colonels will play a condensed schedule, competing in matches until late April.
