Coronavirus update, 3/18
Here are the latest developments regarding the university’s coronavirus protocols, as outlined in an email sent to students yesterday:
- The situation surrounding COVID-19 is getting worse on a state and local level.
- The virtual campus trial on Tuesday went well.
- University operations will fully transition online this week.
- The remainder of the semester will operate online.
- Only faculty and staff who have been told to report to campus by a supervisor will be on campus.
- Faculty and staff required to be present on campus during emergency situations may vary from other emergency situations.
- Student employees will continue to receive payment; more information will become available.
- Nicholls has signed a contract with RespondUs as a test proctoring service and will pay for the cost.
- Students living on campus can choose to stay.
- Food services will remain in operation.
- Cafeteria has opted for “grab and go” meals.
- Students should go to banner to ensure their contact information is accurate.
- Follow regular COVID-19 procedures (wash hands, cover coughs, social distancing, etc.).
- Call your healthcare provider if you’re sick.
- Do not go to the emergency room.
- Call 211 if you are without a healthcare provider.
