Here are the latest developments regarding the university’s coronavirus protocols, as outlined in an email sent to students yesterday:

  • The situation surrounding COVID-19 is getting worse on a state and local level.
  • The virtual campus trial on Tuesday went well.
  • University operations will fully transition online this week.
  • The remainder of the semester will operate online.
  • Only faculty and staff who have been told to report to campus by a supervisor will be on campus.
  • Faculty and staff required to be present on campus during emergency situations may vary from other emergency situations.
  • Student employees will continue to receive payment; more information will become available. 
  • Nicholls has signed a contract with RespondUs as a test proctoring service and will pay for the cost. 
  • Students living on campus can choose to stay.
  • Food services will remain in operation.
  • Cafeteria has opted for “grab and go” meals.
  • Students should go to banner to ensure their contact information is accurate.
  • Follow regular COVID-19 procedures (wash hands, cover coughs, social distancing, etc.).
  • Call your healthcare provider if you’re sick.
  • Do not go to the emergency room.
  • Call 211 if you are without a healthcare provider.
