What students should consider during spring break

Spring time is a beautiful reminder that the semester is almost over; however, that thought doesn’t last long once you realize finals are right around the corner.

Spring break gives students the opportunity to catch up with school and extracurricular activities before their lives become tormented with finals. Before you start stressing over finals, gather your friends and family and head outside for an adventure. Do all the things you couldn’t do while classes were in session. Head over to the park for some football, go bowling with a group of people, or soak up some sun at the beach or lake. Get your buddies and head out for a fishing trip. The choices are endless.

Although not every student has the luxury to do absolutely nothing over the break, it’d be nice to at least believe you’d have some time to relax. Some students work, while others are on a budget. You don’t necessarily have to go outside to enjoy your break.

Spring break, or any break for that matter, is a perfect time to binge-watch all your favorite shows and movies. It’s a shame our classes interfere with our Netflix time. We all know how “one more episode” turns into “I finished the season already?” Spend a day, or five, catching up on Game of Thrones or House of Cards. You know you’ll end up doing it anyways.

No one wants to sit around inside, glued to their textbook, but spring break allows sufficient time to catch up with courses you’ve fallen behind in. It’s also a good idea to get a head start on future assignments so when finals week rolls around, you’ll have enough time to prepare for your exams.

Not looking forward to study? The least you could do is catch up on sleep, because we all know what finals week does to our sleeping schedule. Sleep earlier or wake up later than usual. I guarantee you won’t miss waking up for that 7:30 class.

Most importantly, don’t stress yourself out. Spring break is all about relaxing. Do whatever makes you happy and comfortable because spring break will be over before you know it.
