Since her arrival at Nicholls, sophomore forward Alicia Gautreau has been turning heads on the soccer field with her scoring and talented wing play. Gautreau has scored a goal in two out of four of the Lady Colonels soccer games this season.

As a true freshman in the 2006 season, Gautreau led the team with a total of five goals and twelve points. She also finished second on the team in shot attempts with 36 and shots on goal with 20.

Gautreau placed her name in the Nicholls record books in the 2006 campaign for setting a single-game school record for points with five points, two scored goals and 14 shot attempts.

Gautreau came to Nicholls from Gonzales. While playing soccer at East Ascencion High School, Gautreau received a number of awards and titles for her performance on the field.

She was a four-year letter winner and team captain in both her junior and senior year. As a junior, she was named First-Team All-District, District Offensive MVP and First-Team All-Metro.

In her senior year, she was named First-Team All-District, District MVP, First-Team All-State, First-Team All-Metro and Ascension Parish MVP.

Gautreau’s first goal of the season came in an exhibition match against Mississippi State, which was cancelled due to weather. The Lady Colonels tied the Bulldogs 1-1.

Gautreau said she is optimistic about the upcoming season and hopes the team can succeed.
