Nicholls implements one stop drop

A new policy implemented by The Office of Records and Registration and the Academic Dean’s Council, now enables students to withdraw from classes through the Department of Records and Registration without the signature of a dean. This new policy allows students to complete paperwork necessary to drop a class in one building through the Offices of Records and Registration and Financial Aid.

“In the last few weeks we’ve instituted a policy allowing students to come to Records and Registration and fill out drop forms there,” Mickey Diez, assistant director of the Office of Records and Registration, said.

Students may be required to complete forms through the Office of Financial Aid in case the student’s financial aid packages are affected by dropping a class.

The policy change was implemented as part of a movement to establish an online drop system similar to the University’s current computerized registration system.

“The benefit for students is that they don’t have to walk over campus to drop a class and get a dean’s signature. The new policy is more efficient and user friendly,” Diez said.

April 8 is the last day to drop with a W.
