What: Bonnie Bourg Lecture Series

Keynote speaker Alecia Long, associate professor of history at Louisiana State University, is known for her research on Louisiana, New Orleans and the intertwined histories of gender, race and sexuality in the United States.

She is the author of “The Great Southern Babylon: Sex, Race and Respectability in New Orleans: 1865-1920” and winner of the 2005 Julia Cherry Spruill Publication Prize for best book published on Sothern women’s history.

March 23

The newly formed classic brass band from New Orleans features Matthew Ernst and Doug Reneau on trumpet, Mollie Pate on horn, Matt Wright on trombone and Robert Nunez on tuba.
