News from Nicholls
All classes and operations on the Nicholls State University campus will resume on Monday, Sept. 26.
Preliminary assessment of the Nicholls campus shows high winds and rain from Hurricane Rita have caused storm-related damage comparable to Hurricane Katrina. Maintenance and Grounds will work over the weekend to remove fallen trees, clean up debris, restore utility outages and repair damage to structures and roadways.
For additional information and updates, visit the Nicholls Web site at www.nicholls.edu, the University of Louisiana System website at www.ulsystem.net or stay informed through local news media.
Residential and foodservice operations will continue uninterrupted for students living on campus, as they have throughout the storm.
In addition, Nicholls continues to house about 500 Hurricane Katrina evacuees and Red Cross volunteers in Stopher and Shaver gymnasiums.
