God of War 3

Okay, so I know this game is slightly old, but it is definitely far from stale. Santa Monica Studios’, “God of War 3” has brought many new things to an already amazing franchise. This studio has done it again with this breathtaking game that completes the “God of War” trilogy. In the game, you play as Kratos, the god of war after Ares is dead. Your object in the game is to fight your way through hell and back so Kratos can have revenge on the father he’s been looking for.

Throughout the game, you will fight through hordes and hordes of demons and incredibly large (yet stunning) bosses, in many wild places. The first boss you encounter is Poseidon in a crazy sea serpent/ horse/crab form on the titan Gaia. We’re talking about hanging on for dear life on Gaia’s arms and back to murder this thing.

What’s so amazing about the game is the environment surrounding you. At certain times, you’d swear you’re in a movie with such cinema- like quality. GOW3 proves Playstation3’s potential and proves it well. The game’s cut scenes aren’t far from looking like the game play, unlike other games that have super amazing quality and then the game looks like crap compared to it. This factor definitely makes GOW3 stand out from most games.

If you’re a fan of the franchise, you’ll be happy to know that Kratos won’t be using only his chain blades in this game. In this one, Kratos will acquire quite a few weapons that are all obtained from his foes. Some of the weapons include Apollo’s bow, Hemes’ boots (which isn’t a weapon but you can dash into enemies and kill them) and even the head of Helios.

The game is quite astonishing as far as graphics go, but it’s definitely not made for children. Through out GOW3, the buckets of blood you spill are infinite, especially at the end when you finally reach Zeus (spoiler alert!) and you beat his face in, and continue to do so until your heart is content. There’s also (like in all the other GOW games) a mini game where you and Aphrodite get a little.intimate. There is clearly little discretion throughout the game considering almost every woman you meet on your adventure has her breasts hanging out, and every thing you kill apparently has more than enough blood in them.

Once you finish the game and patch the hole up where your mind was blown, I’m sure you’ll want to play it again. This is a good thing, because the replay value on this is incredible. Once you complete the game, you also unlock a couple mini games. If you’re a hardcore gamer, I’m sure that will keep you busy for a few more hours.

All in all, GOW3 is definitely a must have if you own a Playstation3 and you want the ultimate collection of amazing games. It’s definitely in my top 10 of amazing games right next to “Batman Arkham Asylum,” both games could be played over a hundred times and I still don’t know if I could have enough. The attention to detail on the characters are absolutely astounding, and the combos and weapons you get as you progress make the game more challenging as you try and consider which one is your favorite/most effective.

So if you have $50.00 (the price is well worth it, believe me) then you should definitely invest in this game. If you don’t trust me, you can always try the demo out, but I have a feeling you won’t be disappointed.

Happy Gaming.
