Quiet Storm edges Whoosiers 53-48

Quiet Storm edged the Whoosiers 53-48 in men’s intramural basketball action in Shaver Gym on March 2.Leading Quiet Storm in scoring with 10 points was Isaiah Leslie, freshman from Houma. Raymond Celestine, freshman from Gibson, scored eight; Brian Mitchell, biology junior from Hahnville, scored five; Dwayne Trahan, arts sophomore from Gibson, scored four points. Milton Cayette, government senior from St. James, scored two.

Leading the Whoosiers in scoring with 12 points was Colby O’Quin, nursing junior from Larose. Beau Hebert, science education sophomore from Thibodaux; Phillip Rose, nursing senior from Thibodaux and Bryan Blank, freshman from Thibodaux, each scored seven points. Derek Szush, freshman from Thibodaux, scored six; Beau Cazenave, freshman from Vacherie and Ahmad Trench, management sophomore from Thibodaux, each scored five points.

Bayou Wolves 77, St. Thomas 37

In game two on March 2, the Bayou Wolves defeated St. Thomas 77-37.

Anthony Johnson, freshman from Jeanerette, scored a game high 31 points. Ron Lewis, freshman from Jeanerette, scored 14; Allen Jordan, freshman from St. Rose, scored 10 points; Earl Collins, arts senior from Kenner, scored eight points; Demarquis Randle, freshman from Jeanerette, scored seven; and Jamaal Delasbour, secondary education sophomore from Jeanerette, scored five.

Brandon Fonseca, freshman from Houma, led St. Thomas with 21 points. Steven Ashley, freshman from Houma and Gerrod Galliano, business administration junior from Cut Off, each scored six points; Phillip Menard, computer information systems junior from Morgan City, scored two.

Last Minute 51, Chicken Monkey Turnips 49

Last Minute’s Michael Abadie, business administration sophomore from Slidell, scored 21 points in a 51-49 victory over Chicken Monkey Turnips on March 3.

Other scorers for Last Minute include Nicholas Lisberg, freshman from New Orleans, who scored nine points; Geoffrey Bourgeois, junior from Belle Chasse; Brandon Ruttley, management senior from Houma and Dwayne Henry, mathematics junior from Lockport, each scored six points.

Isaac Fontenot-Amedee, freshman from Pride, led Chicken Monkey Turnips with 10 points. Rudy August, general studies junior from Thibodaux, and Nkrumah Autman, freshman from New Orleans, each scored six points; Joel Fontenot-Amedee, health and physical education junior from Pride; Penn Morris, government senior from Edgard and Sedgwyn Thigpen, general studies sophomore from Baton Rouge, each scored five points.

D-Unit 81, Bayou Wolves 66

Thanks to 27 points scored by Donald Fuselier, health and physical education sophomore from Lafayette, D-Unit defeated the Bayou Wolves 81-66 on March 3.

Other scorers for D-Unit include Travis McCloud, allied health sophomore from New Orleans, who scored 20 points; James Butler, mass communication sophomore from Kenner, scored 11 points; and Cornell Cornish, allied health junior from Thibodaux, scored seven.

Leading the Bayou Wolves was Johnson, who scored 23 points. Travis Wilright, freshman from St. Rose, scored 20 and Collins scored 17.

Renegades 47, Unpredictable 18

In women’s intramural action, the Renegades defeated the Unpredictables 47-18 on March 3.

Jen Posey, graduate student from Purvis, Miss., led the Renegades with 15 points. DeAndra Walter, general studies senior from Houston and Crescent Washington, graduate student from Thibodaux, each scored 10 points; Shauntay Fletcher, general studies senior from Honolulu, Hawaii, scored nine.

Leading the Unpredictables was Danielle Miller, freshman from Springfield, who scored seven points. Michelle Small, health and physical education senior from Harvey; Narrada Dangerfield, freshman from Patterson; and Letesa Stewart, business administration sophomore from New Orleans, each scored three points.

Whoosiers 56, Lights Out 53

The Whoosiers defeated the Lights Out 56-53 in men’s intramural action on March 4.

Leading the Whoosiers was Cazenave, who scored 14 points. Rose scored 13 points; Hebert scored 11; O’Quin scored eight; and Benton Ford, freshman from Thibodaux, scored six.

Aaron Kinebrew, freshman from New Orleans and Paul Snowden, computer information sophomore from Harvey, each led the Lights Out with 11 points.

Hassan Williams, freshman from Westwego, scored 10; Jeremiah Bush, general studies sophomore from Harvey, scored eight; and David Willis, government sophomore from St. Martinville, scored four.
