People gathered at the capital and cities across the states to protest Trump and his policies. The protests had marching bands, people dressed up and signage protesting the Trump administration. Many republicans called the protests “Hate America” rallies.
The protest happened against the backdrop of the still ongoing government shutdown.

Indiana University fires student newspaper advisor who refused to block stories
Indiana University fired Jim Rodenbush, the faculty advisor to the student newspaper The Daily Student, after he didn’t block news stories from publishing about the university’s homecoming week.
The paper’s co-editor-in-chief said Rodenbush “did the right thing by refusing to censor our print edition.”
