Nicholls announced an extension of the remote learning through Thursday, Jan. 23 because of a curfew still in effect for Lafourche Parish.
Jerad David, Nicholls’ director of communications and legislative affairs, sent an e-mail to students on Wednesday, Jan 22 stating that the Lafourche Parish Government has enforced an emergency curfew that prohibits any and all travel while conditions remain dangerous.
“Road conditions will continue to be unsafe through today, so we encourage all to remain sheltered in place in accordance with the curfew,” David stated.
The announcement comes after up to 8.5” of snow blanketed Thibodaux on Tuesday, covering vehicles, roofs and roads.
David additionally assured students living on campus that information regarding Thursday’s meals will be sent out by the Office of Residential Living later today.
