Nicholls State University Executive Chef Anthony Spizale and McNeese State University Chef Jason Lebouef battled for the best dish in a cook-off at Galliano Dining Hall.
Amid homecoming madness, Nicholls and McNeese find themselves competing not only on the field but in the kitchen. Chefs Spizale and Lebouef represented their respective universities in a show of school spirit, each bringing a carefully crafted featured dish for the Nicholls community to judge.
The executive chef for Nicholls dining hall, Chef Spizale, presented his take on a classic: a crabcake and pasta dish plated with lemon slices.
Representing McNeese, Chef Lebouef offered a unique crawfish and corn cake dish topped with sriracha lime honey butter and served with green tomato marmalade.
Decked out in their school colors and mascot-marked baseball caps, the chefs served their dishes alongside QR codes to a survey for the Nicholls community to pick the winning dish.
In a day filled with impressive culinary creations and spirited sportsmanship, Chef Spizale emerged victorious as the Nicholls Colonels voted him the winning chef.
