The Nicholls State University Student Government Association addressed issues regarding the well-being of campus at their weekly meeting.
Appointments
The SGA appointed two new officers at its weekly meeting.
One officer for the College of Sciences and Technology and another for Veterans Affairs.
Concerns
Several senators raised concerns to Dr. Michelle Caruso, the Vice President for Student Affairs, regarding overlooked maintenance issues on campus.
Senator Lance Jones addressed the Wi-Fi instability within Talbot and across the campus in various buildings. Dr. Caruso assured Jones that these issues will be resolved in the next phase of deferred maintenance funds.
Dr. Caruso suggested obtaining a temporary solution to the Wi-Fi issues in the meantime.
Senator Jaiden Valure raised the issue of mold and water damage to North and South Albertson. Dr. Caruso recommended additional emails be sent to maintenance to ensure the report is received and acknowledged.
Approvals
The Senate approved a motion to purchase new flags for the ballroom to replace the old, damaged flags. Several new motions were presented and tabled until the next meeting.
