The Nicholls State University’s Student Programming Association brought students to the Nicholls vs. Southern football game on a fan bus.
In previous years, the Nicholls SPA has arranged for buses to take students to past games.
Myla Johnson, Student Programming Association Spirit and Travel director, explains why she believes it is important to give this opportunity to students of Nicholls.
“Nicholls State University’s Student Programming Association is bringing students to support our football team as they face off against Southern University,” Johnson said. “A Hotard bus will be provided to transport students, ensuring everyone can join in the excitement and cheer on the Colonels in style.”
Timyra Cotton, Student Programming Association President, describes her favorite part of being able to support the Nicholls football team.
“My favorite part about supporting the Nicholls football team is the bond it creates between fans and players—being there to cheer them on in person outside of Guidry Stadium makes you feel like a part of something bigger.”
Cotton also explains why providing a fan bus is important from her point of view.
“Having a fan bus for games is crucial because it brings our community together, allowing more people to experience the excitement and energy that only live support can offer,” Cotton said. “It creates a sense of unity and pride that fuels the team on the field.”
There are no plans to provide buses for any of the games of the fall 2024 season.
