Terry Braud Jr. is appointed as Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration on Sep. 1.
In this new position, Braud will work directly with Nicholls President Dr. Jay Clune to “find strategic ways to advance the university.”
He plans to accomplish this by collaborating with various groups across the university including students, faculty and staff.
“At the end of my service in the future, I would like to think that I will have added value in some way,” Braud said.
In his current position, Braud works directly with fourteen service areas on campus. Some of the areas included are the Athletics Budget, University Budget and Controller’s Office.
Braud also works with Cathy Arcement, his office manager, to serve other areas of the Nicholls campus upon request.
Braud said the most fulfilling aspects of his job are the moments he works directly with the students of Nicholls.
He said, “We have great individuals who are committed to serving our university and our students. I have the privilege of working with many of them on my teams, and I am grateful.”
He gained experience in the field of accounting prior to serving at Nicholls. Braud states his “time at Nicholls in 2016 followed approximately 29 years in the private sector. My role at Nicholls is a continuation of my prior professional service and I have used my prior experience to grow and expand my role at Nicholls.”
The individuals who have inspired Braud most are the “strong leaders and visionaries” who “take on challenges with an eye toward the benefits of change, while being respectful of traditions and valued experience.” He expressed gratitude towards having the opportunity to work with the Nicholls leadership team whom he feels “exhibits these qualities each day.”
Braud’s pride for Nicholls, his alma mater, keeps him motivated in his position.
“I am proud of our alma mater and happy to be a part of the current university family that serves our students and community,” Braud said.
