Nicholls baseball fell to LSU 9-0 to start its midweek road trip on Tuesday.
Nicholls’ bullpen struggled in the loss as five of six pitchers gave up a run.
Starting pitcher Devin Desandro gave up three runs, Alexander Linas and Harper Jordan gave up two runs and Hayden Luke and Gavin Galy gave up one run.
Only Dalis Moran escaped the game without an earned run.
The struggles continued from the Colonel’s last midweek game against Southern Miss that saw runs score on five of Nicholls’ six pitchers.
LSU hit five home runs that accounted for seven of its nine runs.
The Colonel’s defensive struggles were indicative of their offensive performance, recording only three hits.
“We gotta have better at-bats, we only had three hits. It wasn’t a good night offensively for us,” Nicholls’ Baseball Head Coach Mike Silva said. “They had good arms over there and we didn’t make enough adjustments.”
