Nicholls State University quarterback Pat McQuaide won the final Southland Conference Player of the Week award for his performance against Southeastern.
McQuaide led Nicholls to a River Bell Classic victory by throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for a touchdown.
His 300 passing yards in the game are tied for his second-most of the season (345 vs SEMO) and his three total touchdowns are tied for his most on the season (vs Lamar).
McQuaide recognizes the honor it is to win this award but gives credit to the entire offense.
“It is a great honor, but it is a reflection of our offense,” McQuaide said. “The big guys up front and the backs and receivers played phenomenal and most importantly we got a great win against a really good Southeastern team.”
McQuaide is back on the field on Saturday when Nicholls takes on Southern Illinois University at 2 p.m. for Nicholls’ first-round playoff matchup.
