The Harold J. Callais Recreation Center will be undergoing repairs and renovations on some of the damaged areas left by Hurricane Ida in 2021.
These repairs began the week of Oct. 23 and will continue through the remainder of the fall semester
The recreation center is the on-campus gym for Nicholls State University students, staff, alumni and supporters. Their facilities include over 48 pieces of cardio equipment, a 6,000 square foot strength room, an indoor walking track, a racquetball court and much more.
They are working diligently with the contractors to ensure that these repairs are completed with the least amount of inconveniences to the members as possible.
The renovations will be minor and short-termed. Therefore, they will not be closing for the remainder of the semester.
Emails will continue to be sent out with alerts that will inform students exactly where certain repairs are taking place, and the time period of how long they should last.
