Nicholls wide receiver David Robinson Jr. (#5) breaks a tackle after a catch
Nicholls wide receiver David Robinson Jr. made a touchdown catch in Saturday’s game that went viral and was played on ESPN twice.
The touchdown reception came early in the first quarter on Nicholls’ first drive.
Robinson Jr. fought through a defensive pass interference to catch the ball on his back, one-handed.
The catch was featured on ESPN’s College Football Scoreboard’s Acho Mind segment as Emmanuel Acho’s “Best Play.”
Later in the night, Robinson’s catch made an appearance on Sports Center’s “Top 10” at the number three spot.
The segment’s host compared the receiver’s catch to Odell Beckham’s famous catch against the Dallas Cowboys in 2016.
The catch has gone viral on multiple sites.
