Have you ever heard of “Freshman 15?” This term is used to describe the fifteen pounds that college freshmen are likely to put on due to the change in their eating habits. College students love to explore new places to eat, because what else is there to do on a study break?

Here is a list of some of my favorite places to eat in our college town of Thibodaux, Louisiana. 

Five Guys

This burger joint is home to the best burgers and fries in town. Their burgers and milkshakes are unbeatable and a staple here in Thibodaux.

Spahr’s Downtown

This quaint restaurant in Downtown Thibodaux is known for their Bloody Mary’s and fried seafood. Stop in for brunch to enjoy a fabulous meal as well. 

Big Mike’s BBQ

Big Mike’s is the best BBQ you’ll ever eat. Dine in to try a BBQ platter of your choice, BBQ nachos, or even a BBQ baked potato. You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu.

The Willow Cafe

This cafe is located in Downtown Thibodaux and has the best sweets and treats. The Willow is a great place to relax and get some homework done while enjoying a grilled cheese and tomato basil soup.

Fremin’s Restaurant

Spend a night out on the town and stop by this downtown restaurant for a fancy dinner on a special occasion. Fremin’s is known for their great service, signature drinks, and savory dishes. 

El Paso

Stop in for some chips and salsa at this Mexican restaurant and enjoy 2-for-1 margaritas every day from 2-7pm.

Geaux Fish

This Japanese cuisine restaurant is located right outside of campus and offers all of your hibachi and sushi needs.
