The Colonels took a hefty 66-17 loss to the defending league champions and third ranked FCS team, Sam
Houston State University, in Huntsville, Texas on Saturday night.

The Bearkats found the end zone in the first minute of the game, scoring on a 56-yard touchdown catch.
The Colonels were unable to put points on the board until the second quarter when junior kicker Lorran
Fonseca drilled a 37-yard field goal which scored the only points earned in the first three quarters.

The Colonel offense was limited to 307 yards while the Bearkats dominated with 619 yards in their
offensive effort. Sophomore quarterback Chase Fourcade threw for 136 yards including a 57-yard
touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Damion Jeanpiere Jr. in the fourth quarter. Jeanpiere came into
the matchup leading the FCS in receiving yards and managed 95 yards total on the night.

With 13 minutes left on the clock, Fourcade connected with a well-covered Jeanpiere who remained
focused, made the 57-yard catch and scored for the Colonels. At the tail-end of the fourth, redshirt
freshman running back Donnell Adair scored on a 1-yard run for his first career touchdown.
