Nicholls Athletics is searching for a student or students to handle the play-by-play duties for Colonel women’s basketball without pay. The student will be required to call all home games and a couple of road games which will be broadcasted on the Internet.
The student will be trained by coordinator of broadcast media, Mike Wagenheim, and by sports information directors. Any interested students must be prepared to commit to the full slate of about 15 games. No equipment is required, though a laptop computer would be beneficial for the student.
Wagenheim said that a broadcasting background/education would help, but he would not rule out anyone who is interested. Wagenheim went on to say that a student who shows proficiency and improvement throughout the season could be given additional opportunities in the department.
