Homecoming events will continue all day Saturday, starting with the Homecoming Golf Tournament at 7:30 a.m. at the Bayou Country Club.
The tournament consists of 18 holes of golf, and cost $100 per player. This fee includes a gift, golf cart, green fee, coffee, donuts, refreshments, food and two tickets to the Homecoming Buffet and Reception.
The first place prize is a $240 gift certificate per team, and the second place prize is a $160 gift certificate per team.
At 8:30 a.m., the Homecoming Tennis Tournament will be held. The tournament cost is $15, which includes food, a gift, refreshments and two tickets to the Homecoming Buffet and Reception.
There is a sixteen team limit. Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place winners.
Students are invited to watch the Lady Colonels Basketball team practice from 10 a.m. to 12:30 and the Colonels Basketball team practice from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Stopher Gym.
From 4:30 to 6:15 p.m., the Homecoming Buffet, Reception and Pep Rally Celebration will be held in the Nicholls Quadrangle. Tickets for the Homecoming Buffet and Reception are free to dues-paying alumni.
At the reception, a presentation of awards for the golf and tennis tournaments will be held. Also, the 2002 Homecoming Court will be announced and a pep rally will be led by the Pride of NSU and the Nicholls Cheerleaders.
The Colonels will take on the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in John L. Guidry Stadium at 6:30 p.m. The NSU Alumni Association and the Student Programming Association have prepared a fireworks display for half time.
The new Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the game.
