For the second week in a row, a Colonel baseball player is being honored for his outstanding contributions to a team victory. Phillip Aragon, a senior transfer from Texas Tech University, was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s (NCBWA) Pitcher of the Week and Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week just hours after recording the first perfect game in school history. In the 10-0 seven inning blanking over Prairie View A&M, the senior from Denver, Colo. sat down all 21 batters he faced. He struck out two in recording the first perfect game he has thrown at any level.
Aragon joins senior Kyle Cook who earned a similar honor last season.
