Nicholls State (1-1, 0-0) fell to Arkansas State 7-0 in non-conference women’s tennis action at the Renaissance Health and Racquet Club in Houma on Friday morning. “They (Arkansas State) are an experienced team,” Lady Colonel head coach Dale Duronslet said. “They had good ball placement and they were very consistent. They are a good team that was hard to play, but it will help our girls down the road with the experience they got from the match.”
Leading the way for the Colonels in singles was senior Rachel Wade who fell in third singles to Magui Cibilis 3-6, 2-6. In first team doubles, the combination of Wade and freshman Viktoria Hizo fell to Liga Geme and Gija Geme 3-8 while Jacky Kinchen and Jennifer Rodriguez narrowly dropped to Cibilis and Marusa Pogacnik 6-8 in second doubles.
