The Lady Colonel cross-country team took another large step towards a successful season with a first place finish at the Southeastern Cross Country Invitational meet Saturday morning.. Three of the Nicholls women’s runners finished in the top three positions for the meet.

Cassie Jones took a first place finish, as she ran for a time of 17:40.11. Kim Pretsenbach took second place with a time of 18:00.36, and Christina Sergi finished directly behind her with a time of 18:02.24.

The women’s team finished with a team score of 29 points, and Emma Sjorgren finished in 10th place with a time of 18:57.59.

The men’s team, on the other hand, did not turn in a team score, but three of the men finished in the top ten. Mikael Larson finished in fourth place, Tex Martin turned in a sixth finish with and Farren Clark finished in seventh place.

The Colonel cross country teams will return to the trails on Oct. 29 when they will compete in the Southland Conference meet in Nacogdoches, Texas.
