Q: What are your duties while working with the Jefferson Parish Legislative Delegation in Baton Rouge? A: I monitor meetings, type memos, answer phones and look up bills for senators and representatives.
Q: Were you able to choose where you wanted to work, or were you placed there?
A: When I did the interview, the Women’s Political Leadership Network asked me where I wanted to work. I said it did not matter, but I really like what I do. In the morning I work for the Jefferson Delegation, then I go to the Republican Delegation.
Q: I understand that you are a general studies major, what sparked your interest in government?
A: My family is involved in government and I have always had an interest in what they do.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your internship?
A: So far, I have worked with some good people. Sometimes it is not taken that seriously because the senators laugh and talk during meetings. Work is fun. Since I work for Jefferson Parish, I get to find out about what is going on in my hometown, Grand Isle, so that is cool. It is a good internship for any major. People should consider it if they are undecided.
Q: What are your future career plans?
A: Trying to get job! I am undecided. Hopefully I will get a job of some kind with the state.
Q: If you could choose any celebrity to be the governor of Louisiana for a day, who would you choose and why?
A: Probably nobody. I do not really listen to celebrity voices of opinion. I do not think celebrities know what is going on in the world.
Q: What is your motto for life?
A: Live life to the fullest because you never know what will happen in the future.
Q: What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you?
A: I was walking, trying to read the paper and talking to my friends at the same time. All of a sudden, I fell into a ditch by Beauregard hall. My shoe was covered in mud.
