The Student Government Association scheduled online voting for Sept. 8, 9 and 10 to select nominees for the University’s homecoming court.Student organizations nominated 24 men and 24 women as potential candidates for the 2009 homecoming court.
The male and female nominee with the most votes will be crowned homecoming king and queen, respectively, at halftime during the Sept. 26 football game against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
According to the SGA, an online vote was planned for freshman senators as well, but the office did not receive enough applications to hold an election.
Dolly McGeever, SGA secretary, said the students who applied for the positions will be appointed by the President and Student Senate to fill the vacant senate seats.
To cast a vote, students must click the link on the Nicholls Web site. Any student registered with seven or more hours is eligible to vote in the election. Students with fewer hours must pay the student self-assessed fees in order to vote.
