Right after the Colonels won its fourth game of the season, the Bracebridge, Canada native took a little time to speak with The Nicholls Worth.
Q: What are you majoring in at Nicholls?
A: “I am majoring in business marketing.”
Q: Is there any way you can translate marketing into soccer?
A: “Well, marketing is very goal- oriented, as well as soccer. When you’re marketing a product, you’re trying to work towards selling and getting it done while maximizing your profit. Here, you try to maximize your success by winning and scoring.”
Q: How did you get involved in soccer?
A: “I have three older brothers. They always played sports, and that made me want to play.”
Q: Your team just tied the record for single season wins on Sept. 20. What does that mean for you as a teammate?
A: “It feels good. We are not even finished with our season yet. We have 10 games left and we should beat that (four wins) by a lot. We have accomplished so much, and we are only half-way through.”
Q: What helps you stay concentrated during games?
A: “I’m so driven to win. Winning is everything. If we’re down, it’s like I have to get there, and I get really focused and think, I have to score.”
Q: Two games back, you set the University’s career goals scored record. How did that feel?
A: “It was really exciting because I have a year and a half left. It’s an accomplishment in itself, but knowing I still have a year and a half left helps.”
Q: What is the most important thing you have to do when playing your position?
A: “Capitalize when I get my chances. In soccer, you won’t always get a lot of chances, but when you do, you really need to put it into the back of the net and finish.”
Q: If you had to choose one thing about your playing style that is unique, what would it be and why?
A: “I’m really aggressive, and I have a slight intimidation factor. I get very angry if something isn’t going right, but I try to channel that through my playing.”
Q: If you could meet any famous personality, who would it be and why?
A: “It would be David Beckham because he has accomplished so much, and he is so phenomenal in soccer. Not to mention the good looks!
