Ray E. Didier Field received several improvements in the off-season that will possibly benefit Colonel fans in upcoming seasons. Bleacher seating was added behind the third base dugout to accommodate more fans to attend home games.
Also, a new brick backstop with padding and more netting was added behind home plate to offer more protection to fans from foul balls.
Each dugout also received the upgrades of new turf, padding, and nets for the protection of coaches and baseball players. The baseball locker room, located in Barker Hall, also received various upgrades during the off season.
“All of these are things that will help us in recruiting and continuing to bring in good players,” head baseball coach Chip Durham said. “These improvements make our facilities better, and we try to do these new projects every year to make the facility look nicer.
