The Cross Seekers defeated the Tri Sigma 14-12, in this weeks women’s intramural game of the week. “We didn’t prepare to much for this game. We waited until the game started to get ready,” Beth Boudreaux, Tri Sigma team captain, said.
The Cross Seekers started the game with a touchdown as Cross Seekers quarterback Jamie Lugibihl connected with wide receiver Tara Taylor to take a 6-0 lead.
On the Tri Sigma’s first drive, quarterback Beth Boudreaux’s pass was intercepted by defensive back Tara Taylor.
The Cross Seekers scored again on a touchdown run by Lugibihl to take a commanding 14-0 lead early in the first half.
Leading the way defensively for the Cross Seekers was Rachel Lanclos with two first half sacks.
With under a minute to play until the half, the Tri Sigma’s scored as Boudreaux ran for a touchdown to cut the lead to 14-6 at the half.
In the second half, Boudreaux came up big with an interception for the Tri Sigma. Boudreaux then connected to wide receiver Mandy Miguez down the sideline, which set up a touchdown run by Stacy Gravois to cut the lead to 14-12
Cross Seekers defensive back Michelle Lerett came up with the game winning interception, to stop the Tri Sigma’s from taking the lead.
“When we came out today, I told the team that I love playing against the Tri Sigma because they are a good team, and they always play hard.” Jamie Lugibihl, Cross Seekers team captain, said.
