Nicholls students may be in for some early tricks and treats. The Student Programming Association is spreading the Halloween spirit by sponsoring a “mystery bus trip” for Nicholls students. Participants will be bussed to an unknown location in search of terrifying fun.
“If Halloween is your favorite holiday, you’ll love this trip,” Phyllis Lear, Student Activities Coordinator, said.
“It’s a nice, scenic trip through a historic part of Louisiana. It will be scary.”
Fifty-five seats are available on the chartered bus provided by the SPA. As of now, the seats are full. However, some students have already cancelled. Students can put their names on a waiting list.
Interested students can sign up in the Student Life office in the Student Union until tomorrow, or call 448-4608 for more information.
The trip will leave campus at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow and is expected to return for 11:30 p.m. That is, if the spirits allow them to return at all.
“There may be ghosts involved,” Lear said.
The trip costs $10 per person. Aspiring ghostbusters should also bring money for a fast food dinner on the way home.
Though the SPA will not divulge the location of the destination, they have said the travelling time will be approximately two hours. If the trip goes as planned, students will spend from 7 to 8 p.m. at the mysterious destination and leave around 8:30.
Lear said the student interest in this trip has been encouraging, setting the stage for other events like this one. “We’ll probably do more of this in the future,” Lear said.
