The Lady Colonels tennis squad fell 4-1 at McNeese State and 7-0 at Lamar but won 4-3 over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Monday afternoon to improve to 12-7 on the season. In doubles the Colonels failed to win the point. In the number two match, Anne-Claire Murier and Sanja Stanojcic claimed an 8-6 victory over Frausto and Petra Gudelj, but the Colonels dropped the number one and three doubles matches.
The only point of the match came from Stanojcic at the number four seed over Rocio Frausto 1-6, 6-2, 6-2. In the number 2 match, Natalia Zomora fell 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 to Natascha Jongeneel. Sumana Kalyanasundram dropped the No. 5 match 6-2, 6-4 while Nicole September lost 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 at No. 6. The number one and three singles matches were unfinished.
On Sunday Lamar swept the Lady Colonels by winning all the matches.
Nicholls dropped the number one and two doubles matches and did not play the third match due to injury. At the first match, Nosca/Kalyanasundram fell 8-0 and Stanojcic/Murier lost 8-2 at the second match.
In singles Nosca fell 6-1, 6-1 at number one seed, and Murier dropped the number two match 6-4, 6-4. Stanojcic lost 6-3, 6-1 at the number three match. In the number four match, Kalyanasundram was swept 6-0, 6-0.
On Monday the Lady Colonels got back to their winning ways claiming a 4-3 victory over the Islanders. Nicholls captured the doubles point, winning two of three.
At the number two match, Stanojcic/Murier defeated Erika Iriarte/Alexandra Dyckman 8-6, and Natalia Zomora/Kalyanasundram won 8-3 over Alexandra Valarezo/Jessica Gonzalez at the number three match.
In the first match, Nosca/September fell 8-6 to Nina Ciric/Megan Harless. In singles Nosca lost the number one seed match 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 to Ciric.
Lady Colonel Murier defeated Iriarte 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 at the second match. At the third match Zomora won 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 over Dyckman. In the fourth match Stanojcic fell 6-0, 1-6, 7-6 to Harless, and Kalyanasundram lost 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to Valarezzo at the fifth match. September defeated Gonzalez 6-2, 6-4 at the sixth seed.
