In another brief meeting, the Student Government Association tabled a motion to contract Christine Russell as legal adviser to the SGA. The motion would grant $2,900 to Russell to advise the SGA periodically throughout a 12-month period.
For six out of the eight senators who were in England as part of the Honors Abroad Program, last night’s meeting was the first since Feb. 22.
“It’s good to have y’all back,” Scott Duplantis, SGA president, said.
Duplantis said he spoke to campus recreation director Michael Matherne who asked for SGA representatives to accompany him on a trip to other universities to observe their recreational facilities in an effort to get ideas for a possible recreational center at Nicholls.
Ben Landry, director of public relations, reminded interested persons to apply for executive board positions – public relations director, treasurer and director of students’ rights and grievances.
Duplantis said next week’s meeting is the last this semester to bring up a motion over $150 dollars.
