The women’s golf team hosted the LDR Investments Lady Colonel Collegiate Monday and Tuesday at The Bridges Golf Club in Bay St. Louis, Miss. The tournament concluded Tuesday with the Lady Colonels finishing seventh. Freshman Brooke Braun again led the Lady Colonels placing sixth among the field.

“Weather conditions were there for good scores, and we placed the ball well as a team I thought,” head coach James Schilling said.

After the first day of competition, the Lady Colonels, led by senior Theunette Van der Walt and Braun, were tied for third among 10 teams.

“We had a great tournament,” Schilling said. “The Bridges Golf Club was in excellent shape, and the teams really enjoyed themselves.”

The Lady Colonels next compete Saturday, Oct. 25 in the Troy Invitational at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Ala.

The Nicholls men’s golf team will compete for the first time in two weeks at the University of Texas at Arlington’s Waterchase Invitational. This will be the final golf tournament of the season.
